According to data from the US Department of Commerce, the US imported about 2.55 million tons of steel in June this year, an increase of 2.2% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%. In addition, US steel imports reached about 4 billion US dollars, an increase of 6% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 41.5%. The major US steel importers in June were Canada (576,000 t), Mexico (473,000 t), South Korea (271,000 t) and Brazil (182,000 t).
